Aviya is an online company that specializes in creating luxury mattresses and distributing them to hotels as well as individuals. What’s great about these mattresses apart from the affordable price is that they feature a hybrid design – combining foam and innerspring. This results in a substantially comfortable piece complement to your bed.
Still a relatively new product in 2022, we thought we’d check it out and take an in-depth look. So, without further ado, let’s get all the details in our latest Aviya mattress review.
Who Is This Mattress Best For?
Who Won't Love This Mattress?
Aviya Mattress Construction & Layers
Typically, the mattress is 12 inches high and has three layers of high-density foam as well as supporting coils in addition to a mega-soft quilted top layer, which offers a luxurious feel. The three CertiPUR-US® certified foam layers are a perfect blend of high-density foams, which are necessary for providing both comfort and support.
Also called the integrated layer. It is very soft, giving a luxurious feel to these mattresses. It has a stretch-knit cover and is quilted but it’s not removable. You’ll need to spot clean any stains and spillages.
The density of 1.8 PCF (pounds per cubic foot) and a 20 ILD rating, which means it is a midway firmness mattress. At this rating, essentially, your Aviya mattress will sink to some extent so as to provide further pressure relief. On the other hand, the foam density of 1.8 pounds per cubic foot is compatible with numerous sleeping positions, considering it is medium-density foam.
This layer transitions from the foam above to the pocket coils. It offers benefits for the lumbar region. It is worth noting that the foam density at this layer is still 1.8 pounds per cubic foot, but its ILD is higher – 35, meaning it is more firm and able to support people of higher weights without sinking considerably. The firmness of this section makes it ideal as a transition layer from the softer upper layer to the firmer supporting area of the coils below.
The coils are responsible for the bounce feel of the mattress. The coil pre-base features numerous springs that are individually wrapped. In a queen-sized bed, for instance, there are 800 individually wrapped coils. The individual wrapping of coils is excellent at isolating motion. Additionally, these coils can regulate temperature because they create spaces to allow for a free flow of air within the mattress.
This is a one-inch thick layer beneath the coils. It is made up of high-density polyfoam, i.e., 1.8 PCF and an impressive ILD of 50. Since this is the foundation of the Aviya mattress, the 50 ILD confers the necessary firmness to support all the above layers – the coils rest on this layer.
Along the perimeter of the Aviya mattress is a 3-inch thick foam providing impressive edge support. It is a high-density polyfoam, i.e., 1.8 PCF and 50 ILD. Specifically, it runs around the coil layer so that it defends the edge against collapsing when you apply pressure, such as when you sit on the side. Additionally, it helps the mattress keep its shape.
Support and Firmness
There are three comfort firmness levels of the Aviya mattresses, i.e., Plush, Luxury Firm, and Firm, with each one of them having a combination of foam and coil layers. Different people have different feelings about the firmness of the mattress because they have different body types, and the distribution of weight is different too.
We’ll rate each one on a comfort scale of 1-10 to give you an idea of how they feel; 1 being the hardest and 10 being the softest.
Also called soft, we’d say the rating is about 8.5. Perfect if you love something offering a soft and luxurious feel. It features generous layers of plush foams, which allows settling into the mattress. You’ll have a feeling of ‘hugging in’ rather than ‘laying on’ the bed.
This is a midway form – not too hard, not too soft. On the firmness scale, it rates around 5.5. It is slightly firm with a plush layer between the sleeping surface and the supportive core. It feels like the traditional cradling effect of memory foam at first, but when you add more pressure, it leads to the firmer support. Eventually, you’ll feel the springiness and further full-body contouring of the coils.
It is firm (not rock hard), and rated around 2.5. Due to the composition of this mattress, it has less of a cradling effect when lying on top. You won’t sink into the bed. Instead, you’ll have a feeling of sleeping on top of the mattress. You’ll get a solid mix of pressure relief and support, regardless of your sleeping position. Furthermore, a good amount of bounce will allow you to adjust your sleeping position easily.
“While it isn’t the cheapest on the market, compared to some other innerspring mattresses, Aviya offers its mattresses at a fair price but retaining the top quality features..”
How Is The Feel?
The Aviya mattress is a hybrid between innerspring and foam. Typically, it features a comfort foam and solid coils below it.
While Aviya has a layer of foam closest to the sleeper, still, it presents itself more of a spring mattress than a foam mattress. With the springiness, you’ll enjoy a deeper bounce produced by the coils rather than a small bounce of ordinary mattress generated by the foam.
Since the springiness in Aviya is more than the foam responsiveness, people who like the memory feel may not love this mattress. Yes, it has a top foam layer, but the layer is overpowered by the coils.
Aviya and Sleeping Positions
A mattress with varying firmness options is appealing to people who sleep in different styles. Since the Aviya mattress has a versatile firmness, it makes it possible for people of different sleeping positions to use.
Side sleepers might sink into the mattress a little more because they have their weight concentrated over a small surface area. The top layer offers a soft sleeping surface; thus, offering excellent pressure relieving capabilities. However, if you are a significantly lightweight side sleeper, you might want the Plush model to sink deeper into the mattress and be able to experience sufficient alignment and pressure relief.
Side sleepers will feel much pressure at the shoulders and hips – reason; increased weight over a small area. But this is not something to worry about. If you strictly sleep on the sides, you still might consider the Plush form of the Aviya mattress.
Back sleepers will find the Firm and Luxury Firm Aviya to be on the comfortable range since their weight distribution is over a larger area on the bed. The compact spring in this mattress helps in lumbar support because the mattress fills in the lumbar region space. You won’t feel the stuck feeling of an all-foam mattress because the springs underneath give you the required lift. Lightweight back sleepers should consider buying the Firm option for increased support. Also, heavy back sleepers and stomach sleepers need extra support, so the Firm option is their ideal choice.
When you sleep on your stomach, the distribution of weight is even across the body. With such a low pressure on your chest, you can breathe easily. For this reason, we’d say the Plush is the best option.
Motion isolation is simply how the mattress will behave when you toss and turn on your bed. Now, the point is, will the other person feel your movement?
Memory foam has a great ability to isolate motion. However, innerspring mattresses are known to have less motion transfer. But, the motion transfer on Aviya is much less than other types of innerspring mattresses for two reasons.
Firstly, memory foam is the best at keeping motion transfer to a minimum. Being a hybrid mattress and adopting memory foam as the top layer is the first barrier against motion transfer.
Secondly, the innerspring construction in use is known as a pocketed coil system. These act independently of each other, and so when movement occurs on one side of the bed, the springs on the other side stay still. This helps to minimize transfer.
Overall, this makes the Aviya mattress a good option for two people. If your partner tosses or gets off the bed, you will not feel the disturbance. Nonetheless, some of this depends on the weight of the person and the intensity of motion.
On average, motion isolation is excellent.
More often, you will find yourself sitting on the edge of the bed. How the mattress responds depends on its quality. Similarly, ask yourself, if you sleep on the edge of the mattress, how will it feel?
The Aviya mattress comes with 3-inch thick edge support foam to reinforce the edges, a feature that you rarely see in other mattresses. This foam is placed around the perimeter of the coil layer. If you lie on or near the edges of this mattress, this foam is meant to offer stability.
Excellent edge support means that support from the center of the mattress to the edge remains the same regardless of the side you sleep on. Aviya does a great job of supporting your weight and retaining the shape of the mattress. So, when you sleep near the edge, this mattress holds up well. Thus, you won’t feel as if you want to roll out of bed no matter where you’re positioned. There is no compression around the sides at all.
Furthermore, sitting upright means more pressure at one point. When you sit on the edge of this mattress, it still holds up its form. There is minimal compression.
So, Aviya creates mattresses with excellent edge support. That implies you’ll be able to use a larger surface area of your mattress when sleeping, and also makes it easier for you to sit on the edge of your bed to accomplish tasks like tying shoelaces.

Warranty and Sleep Trial
With the Aviya mattress, you’ll get a 10 year warranty to cover you against defects and impressions of more than one inch. Though you may see some latex mattresses with 25 year warranties, the material is much different in comparison. A 10 year warranty is about right for a hybrid mattress, but it would’ve been nice to stretch to 15-years.
As for the trial, you’ll get a 100 night in-home trial period – if it doesn’t please you, the company picks it up free of charge. While 100-nights should be enough for anyone to decide, many companies are offering 120 nights and above. A 10-year warranty and a 100-night trial seem like the minimal terms in today’s market.

Some Aviya Faq's
Will Aviya take away my old mattress?
Yes, they can, but you’ll have to pay a $199 fee for this optional service.
Is the Aviya mattress safe to use?
Yes, the foams are CertiPUR-US® certified, meaning they are made without ozone depleters, PBDE flame retardants, mercury, lead, and other heavy metals, formaldehyde, and prohibited phthalates.
Is this mattress good for partners?
This mattress is an excellent option for partners due to above-average motion isolation. Additionally, sex can be enjoyable as there is still an element of bounce provided by the springs.
Is it good for back pain?
All hybrid mattresses tend to be good at proving back pain relief, and the Aviya is no different. Note that the coils/springs in this mattress are super-compact, offering excellent support for the lumbar region. For best results, we recommend you choose the Firm option to ensure proper spinal alignment.
Will I get hot when I sleep on this mattress?
Many people get hot while sleeping on foam beds. However, a large coil system underneath the foam surface helps dissipate trapped body heat, thus keeping you cool while asleep.
Do Aviya offer financing?
Yes, you can finance your purchase with a company named Bread.
Our Aviya Mattress Ratings
In our opinion, the Aviya mattress is one of the best hybrid mattresses on the market (in its price range). It’s true; the Aviya mattress is luxurious. It gives you the feel of high-end hotel mattresses. However, the most impressive part is that they come at an affordable price, but retaining high-quality construction and materials.
Additionally, you can choose from either of the three available models, i.e., Plush, Luxury-Firm, and Firm. While all models are good, Aviya claims their Luxury Firm accounts for 80% of their sales. However, you may prefer something more soft or firm instead. The fact is if you’re unsure, simply use the 100-night trial period to help decide; returns are free. Delivery will also be free and made to your doorstep, so there’s no real loss.
